This carousel was hidden in a garage, in an industrial part of Brooklyn, by the bay. I fell in love with it, instantly. It appeared like a fairy tale, hiding silently in the concrete jungle.

Notting Hill Carnival

Here are a few of the portraits I drew from photographs I took at the Notting Hill Carnival. The carnival is all about colours, sound, smell etc. stimulating every single sense. But I chose to focus on physical traits and expressions with very clear, simple lines to express the atmosphere and mood of the crowd.

3rd picture: woman working at a stand to sell jerk chicken. they were taking their time. i waited 45 mins with 10 people to get my food. but it was worth it!
